Can Happiness Be A Diet Pill

Food of course is very important tool when it comes to losing weight.  What if I told you doing something you love was a diet trick as well.  Think it through with me.  Think about when you were feeling depressed or low energy, frustrated, stuck.  What did you do to help remedy that feeling.  If you are like most people you turn to food, chocolate, ice cream, chips, wine.
Now, think about a time when you were truly happy….when you were falling in love, working on a project that you felt passionate about, being creative.  You are lost in the moment.  You are filled with the positive energy.  You may have even forgotten to eat, you were so fulfilled, busy, and happy.  This feeling doesn’t dissipate right away either, it stays with you.
So today’s tip is to find something that makes you really happy, and do it.  Try to do something once a month that makes YOU happy.  I am not just talking about a pedicure… though sometimes this can work… but I am talking about touching on something that speaks to you, something you have wanted to do.  Maybe it is a bucket list item, or taking a class, visiting a new city or allowing yourself time to create. So give it some thought, brainstorm with a friend if you are stuck.  Once you start the practice, more ideas will come to you.
